The WSC Summit will be back in 2021

Update: Covid – 19

Under current circumstances in the travel and events industries, the WSC Summit will return in 2021

We see, hear and feel a direct change of conscious from travellers. This is having an impact on not just where or how they travel but also and importantly who they want to book their holiday with.

The Climate Emergency is a serious matter for our industry and travel providers can expect to receive more questions from their customers. From their carbon offsetting initiatives and sustainable travel policies as well as many more issues surrounding the protection of environment the public want to know how the companies that they do business with operate.

On the 9 October 2020, the WSC Summit will bring together industry leaders and real shapers of change who are making a difference through their practices and values within their business in an engaging forum. We will discuss and debate the challenges and opportunities we as an industry face together and what practical actions we can take to make the change.

The programme and topics this year are designed to present a focussed environment where like-minded industry thought leaders will come together. We will all share ideas, encourage change and inspire new ways of thinking to protect the extraordinary places we take our customers to and explore ways of how to stop and minimise ineffective carbon footprint.

Interest in wildlife, safari and conservation travel is growing. The WSC Summit presents a great platform to hear insights from compelling speakers, learn from industry experts and the opportunity to network and do business with relevant partners and there are plenty of ways for the travel industry to get involved!

Some feedback from delegates, speakers and sponsors who attended the inaugural WSC Summit in 2019:

“Being part of the first WSC Summit was very important to us at Hurtigruten. Meeting, discussing and learning from like-minded brands whilst inspiring the trade partners in attendance is all part of our growth strategy. The quality of the speakers, panel discussions and attendee’s exceeding our expectations and we hope to be included again at future summits.”

“Everyone involved in travel should be thinking about the topics raised at the summit; getting together allows us to improve the way we work together and make sure tourism is a force for good.”

Ecollective Travel

“The WSC Summit far exceeded my expectations and I left feeling inspired, motivated and educated. A pleasant surprise for me was discovering that this summit delved deep into some of the big conservation and responsible tourism issues facing the tourism industry on a global level, rather than just promoting the glam salesy side of wildlife, safari and conservation travel. I should also add that the speakers and panellists were clearly experts in their field so their candid opinions were very valuable and insightful. I’d recommend the WSC Summit to anyone working in the travel industry.”
